Choose the journey that matches your stage

Both routes combine aviation development with exposure to Atlas culture and leadership. Select a journey for the main milestones described in the program flyers.

01Student to pilotStart with FAA certificates and ratings⌄

1. Flight trainingWork toward six FAA certificates and ratings, from Private Pilot through Flight Instructor Instrument.
2. Academy flight instructorQualified cadets may receive a priority interview to become a CFI and continue building hours.
3. Leadership and specialized trainingProfessional development, Atlas leadership exposure, a facility visit, and potential 747 simulator time.
4. Build qualifying experienceThe flyer notes an unrestricted ATP and at least 250 hours of high-performance flight time among the requirements.
5. Apply to AtlasAfter completing applicable training and experience requirements, cadets may be eligible to apply for a First Officer opportunity.

02CFI to First OfficerTeach, build hours, and prepare to apply⌄

1. Join as an academy CFIEligible Certified Flight Instructors can train cadets while building toward unrestricted ATP requirements.
2. Develop leadership skillsComplete leadership training designed for the workplace and flight deck.
3. Experience AtlasMeet Atlas leaders, visit a facility, learn about the operation, and potentially log 747 simulator time.
4. Build high-performance timeThe flyer describes at least 250 hours of high-performance time and an unrestricted ATP before Atlas eligibility.
5. Pursue a First Officer opportunityCFIs who complete the applicable requirements may have an opportunity to begin the Atlas application process.
